This policy explains what personal data we collect when you contact us, ask about our retreats, write a review or stay with us — why we use it, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights.

What we collect

  • Enquiries — through our website forms, email, phone, WhatsApp or Facebook/Instagram lead forms: name, email, phone number, country and your answers (for example preferred dates, riding experience or number of guests).
  • Reviews — name, rating, text and, if you give it, your email. Name, rating and text are published on the website after we approve them; your email is never published.
  • Bookings — the details needed for your stay, including the identification data that Portuguese law requires us to record for guest registration, and billing details.

Why we use it

  • Replying to your enquiry and sending the programme, price and availability — steps taken at your request before a contract (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Managing your booking and stay — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Guest registration, invoicing and tax records — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
  • Publishing your review — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Who we share it with

  • Dom Cavalo (domcavalo.com), our partner who organises the equestrian programme of the Horses, Land & Culture retreats, receives the details of retreat enquiries only to reply to you and organise your participation.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf: our booking engine (HeyTravel), Meta Platforms Ireland (Facebook/Instagram lead forms) and our email and website hosting providers.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland, for the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API: only if you accept cookies, we share with Meta that you visited our pages or sent a request (together with your email, phone and name in hashed form) so that we can measure our ads.
  • Public authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell your data. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; when they do, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Enquiries: up to 12 months after our last contact. Reviews: while they are published, or until you ask us to remove them. Booking and invoicing records: for the period required by Portuguese law (up to 10 years for tax records).

Cookies

This website uses the cookies it needs to work — your language choice, the session, form security and your cookie choice. Only if you click Accept in the cookie banner do we also load the Meta Pixel, which sets advertising and measurement cookies (for example _fbp) so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. If you decline, nothing from Meta is loaded. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie preferences in the footer of every page. The booking engine, on its own website, has its own cookie policy.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format and withdraw your consent — write to email@onzenas.com. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).
